Tasting 1: Friday 22nd October ‘The Beauty of a Blend’

The beauty of a blended whisky is that it takes a combination of opposites – smooth and fiery, sweet and peaty – and blends them into a wonderfully complex taste that no single malt could match.  As with the painter’s palette, each single malt adds a distinctive layer of colour and texture to the canvas, culminating in a wonderfully rich and complex painting expressing its own unique story.

Join us as we explore the complexity of a blend and some of its constituent Single Malts

Come and enjoy an evening of Whisky Tasting and a performance from The Bergen Pipe Band on Friday 22nd and/or Saturday 23rd October at Nøsteboden.  The evenings will start promptly at 19.30 with the whisky tasting – led by Chris Maile – whisky expert and organiser of The Oslo Whisky Festival. Experienced Whisky drinkers and Whisky novices alike, will enjoy learning about the whiskies being tasted during the evening whilst savouring their subtle smells and flavours.

Tasting 2: Saturday 23rd October ‘How do you drink Whisky’

Many people wonder what is the ‘correct’ way to drink Whisky; with water, without water, as water? Maybe by the end of this tasting you will discover the way you prefer to drink it… which, by the way, is the ‘correct’ way for you.

All will be revealed as we sample one of the World’s favourite Single Malts in 5 different ways.

After the Whisky Tasting, enjoy a beer or two at one of Nøsteboden’s fine bars, whilst listening to The Bergen Pipe Band perform a number of tunes.

En Kveld med Whiskysmaking

Kom og delta på en kveld med whiskysmaking og sekkepipemusikk ved The Bergen Pipe Band fredag 22. oktober og/eller lørdag 23 oktober på Nøsteboden. Kvelden starter kl. 19.30 med whiskysmaking ledet av whiskyeksperten og organisator av Oslo Whiskyfestival, Chris Maile. Både erfarne og uerfarne whiskydrikkere vil sammen lære om whiskyen som blir smakt denne kvelden somtidig som lukter og smaker nytes.

Etter whiskysmakingen, ta en øl eller to i en av Nøstebodes fine barer, mens The Bergen Pipe Band fremfører noen låter.
