Bergen Pipe Band

Whisky Tasting Evening, 11th February 2010, 19.00. For Tickets, Click Here. The Bergen Pipe Band is a registered
organisation with Brønnøysund (Reg. nr. 994 656 295).
Its foundation roots come from an earlier incarnation of the band formed
in September 2005 and continues to maintain a strong corps of
bagpipers and drummers. At present, there are 6 bagpipers and 3
beginner pipers learning on the practice chanter and we presently have 2
snare drummers, a base drummer and 2 chanter players performing as tenor
drummers at gigs. Piping and Drumming tuition takes place twice a
week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 17.00 till 20.00 at the
International School of Bergen. Additional practices take
place when required. The band members have played at a
number of high profile events including 'The Tall Ships Race 2008',
Pillaguri festival in Otta, with the Greenland Whalefishers,
Herremiddagen, Radio and Television (NRK,
Radio 1 and TV2),
International Rugby match - Norway - Denmark, weddings, funerals,
parties and Julebords etc. Band members played regularly at Bergen
Scottish Society Ceilidhs, Burns Suppers, Whisky tasting and 17
mai parades. The band can occasionally be seen performing at free
events in and around Bergen.

Grasrotandelen. If you play the
Lotto and would like some of the money
that you pay to play to be donated to

Are you keen to learn
either the Bagpipes or drums? Do you want to play in
a Pipe Band? Both young (10 years or older) and older students are most
welcome to come and try them out and, of course, any existing
players are very welcome! Tuition is FREE, though 50Kr per
month is payable as a band sub. Contact

Pipers are available
to play at any kind of event - corporate, wedding, party,
julebord parties, funeral etc. Prices available on
request.

The Bergen Pipe Band is very pleased to be
associated with
Nøsteboden,
Hansakontoret and
Det Glade Bergen and regularly plays at events at Nøsteboden
and joins Det Glade Bergen on 17th May - Norway's National Day.
